Inverness Jail Chaplain team: Mark Robinson, Tom and Francisco
Corona. “EMPHASIS ON CARING”

Several times a week Tom can be found mentoring Christian men on their walk with Jesus…..emphasis is always on the Bible and prayer.

40+ year friends John and Beth Whitney (left end of table) visited from Nebraska with other family and friends enjoying dinner and fellowship.
Tom
and twin sister Jeanie (she accepted Christ as her Personal Savior
this year) celebrate their 82nd birthday together this summer.

1.
JAIL MINISTRY-God sends encouragement into our lives each week as we
see Him transform people with great needs only he can address. The
final words I heard as I left the class of about 18 Hispanic men in
one of our recent Wednesday Bible studies was: “Tom, we appreciate
your caring ministry to us”. The following Friday when opening a
cell block door, I was greeted by inmates singing hymns. Then I
opened the Bible with them and they memorized two of my favorite
verses: Romans12:12 & 15:13. One of the inmates dismissed us in
prayer and faces radiated with joy!Such a caring ministry is well
worth the investment.
2.
MENTORING CHRISTIAN LEADERS– Mentoring in the business world is
refreshing as we see a hunger for God in so many. Our goal is to
prepare people to share their life changes and to carry on their
legacy with others. Recently, 7 men crowded into a booth at a local
restaurant. Two shared their testimony with another man who had
asked how to become a Christian. One young man who soon is returning
to Mexico took us to the Book of Romans. After two hours of Bible
study, we left the booth encouraged by the opportunity for
evangelism. I wish you could join us sometime in one of these
sessions focused on meeting needs through Bible and “up close”
honest fellowship.

HOSPTIAL CHAPLAIN- God continues giving us situations to help people
in their time of need. On call at the local hospital, Legacy Mt.
Hood Medical Center, we rejoice in our chances to present HIS
healing Peace only HE can bring!
